Saturday morning parkrun.

At 9.00am FREE timed 5k runs/races at Wanstead Flats (Harrow Road), Valentines Park (Ilford), Roding Valley, Walthamstow, Barking and many other venues across London, the UK and other Countries.



Suitable for all levels from beginners to experienced runners.

This race is the 2nd leg of the 2026 East London V Interclub Series (ELVIS)
Friendly atmosphere, well organised but low key event. Members of other clubs and the general public are welcome to enter too.

Race Details
Location: Raphael Park, Parkway, Romford RM2 5PA
Race Starts at 7:30pm, 2nd June 2025
Race Numbers will be issued on the day.
Race HQ will be situated adjacent to the Raphael Park Tennis Club hut: what 3 words location ///arch.extra.dogs
Registration will be open 1 hour before start, ELVIS reps please pick up registration for your club's runners
Please register at least 15 minutes before the race to allow time to get to the start which is short walk from race HQ.
The race start is narrow so runners will be organised according to their expected finish times to ensure safety of runners
Chip timed - both at start and finish, places will be awarded on gun time.

The course is 5 miles, consisting of 2 loops mostly within the Park with a short section on pavement outside the park on Lake Rise; mostly flat and traffic free
Water station at the halfway point and finish
No official bag-drop. Baggage to be left at your club RVP or at race HQ for unaffiliated runners only.
There are toilets within the park, the closest to race HQ is 100m away
Parking - there is ample car parking on the surrounding streets or in the small car park opposite the Main Road entrance

Wednesday Club Run & Barbecue 3rd June 2026 - Meet at Eton Manor Rugby Club at 6.50pm for a 7.00pm start - Epping Forest and Towpath Run (Approx 5.8 Miles)

The run will start and finish at Eton Manor Rugby Club, Nutter Lane, Wanstead E11 2JA.



New members are welcome. Please come along and try us out for up to three trial runs.

Important: For health and safety reasons, take care when crossing roads and please wear some hi viz clothing or lights, so you can be seen by traffic and pedestrians.

The barbecue will start immediately after the club run at Eton Manor Rugby Club.

Wednesday 10th June 2026 - East London Runners Valentines Park 5K - ELVIS 3

Note: There will be no club run from Eton Manor Rugby Club on the night.

East London Runners is pleased to host a great chip timed road race set in the scenic grounds of Valentines Park, Ilford. Full Licence ID: 31367
This is the third ELVIS race of the season. The course is flat and fast and will be run all on paths completely within the perimeter of the park and will be traffic free.
Our sponsor for the last year is the The Therapy Guy, a sports therapy specialist based in Leyton.
For the last 12 years, East London Runners donates the race surplus and cake stall proceeds to local charities.
This year, our charity of choice will be The Magpie Project
They provide a safe and fun place for mums and pre-school children suffering in temporary or insecure accomodation

RACE DETAILS
Race start: 7.30pm, Wednesday 10th June 2026
Race HQ: In the park near the Melbourne Road Entrance, IG1 4LG
Race packs will be available for collection by your club representatives between 6.00pm and 07.00pm - your timing chip will be attached to your race number
NO TRANSFERS prior to, or on race day. Unofficial transfers will be removed from the final results. Entries on the day accepted till 7pm at the price of £12 for Affiliated runners and £14 for non-Affiliated ones.
We are proudly inclusive of all members of the LGBT+ community and we welcome entrants as female, male or non-binary. UKA rules dictate that only male and female runners qualify for ranking purposes, however all non-binary times will be captured in the overall race results. You can read more in UKA's Non-binary Guidance for Road Race Organisers. Prizes will not be awarded to non-binary runners.

TRANSPORT
There is pay parking (RingGo) available in the park (£6.40 for the day and £3.10 for 2 hours) and in the local streets. We request that you leave your vehicle with consideration for the park’s neighbours.
Local buses and trains by can be located here.

TOILETS

Toilets are located within the park.
Bags can be left near the registration area at owner's own risk. First aiders will be available around the course for your safety. If you feel ill or notice anyone else in distress, please inform a marshal.
Gender-neutral toilets are located at Valentines mansion cafe.

COURSE
A two lap flat and fast 5 km course run all on paths completely within the perimeter of the park and will be traffic free. Other park users will be using the park so please take care, and observe the marshals' instructions.

AGE RESTRICTIONS
The race is open to anyone aged 15 or over. There is no upper age limit.

PRIZES

Water will be available to all finishers .
Prizes will be awarded to the following categories:
1st, 2nd, and 3rd individual male
1st, 2nd, and 3rd individual female
1st VM40, VM50, VM60, VM70 and VM80 individuals
1st VF40, VF50, VF60,VF70 and VM80 individuals
Runners awarded an individual prize for finishing in any of the overall top 3 places will be ignored when awarding the prizes for age categories.
We will also have a prize for a mixed team composed of the 3 first female and 3 first males of an affiliated club including at least 1 Vet for each gender.

Results will be posted on the ELR Club website www.eastlondonrunners.org.uk, on the ELVIS Facebook page and on the ELVIS Clubs website www.elvisraces.club

CHIP TIMING
The race will use chip timing to give all runners an accurate individual time. Official results will be based on gun times.
