Annual General Meeting of East London Runners -11th March 2026.

We are pleased to announce that the following members were elected to the Committee of East London Runners at the AGM tonight:

Emma Corbett - Social Secretary
James Nichols - Committee Member
Paul Watkins - Committee Member
Neil Bianchi - Committee Member
Imran Mustak - Committee Member
Simon Nash - Committee Member

The following members were also elected at the AGM and make up the new Committee for 2026/27:

Michael Wilson - Club and Membership Secretary and Assistant Welfare Officer
Calvin Bobin - Treasurer

Additional Re-elected Officers:

Catriona Hoult - Wednesday Run Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator
Clare Stevens - Volunteer Coordinator
Becky Evans - Committee Member
Ian Mackie - Committee Member
Janet Bywater - Committee Member

The roles are to be confirmed at the next Committee Meeting on 24th March.

The meeting also agreed the new annual membership fee of £36 (including £23 England Athletics Affiliation Fee) due 1st April 2026 and second claim membership fee of £13 due 1st April 2026.

A vote was taken to choose the ELR charity for the 2026 Valentines Park 5K. The winner was Magpie Project.

Finally, it was good to see another big turnout at The Leytonstone Tavern tonight.

The new Committee look forward to working for the club in the forthcoming year.

Track Training Monday 16th March 2026



Session: Oscillating Intervals

Monday 6.30pm -7.45pm
Venue - Ashton Playing Fields, 598 Chigwell Road, Woodford Green IG8 8AA

All sessions are suitable for beginners and more experienced runners.

Cost: Adults £4.40 card or electronic payments only

Wednesday Club Run 18th March 2026 - Meet at Eton Manor Rugby Club at 6.50pm for a 7.00pm start - Woodford Avenue/High Road Run (Approx 10K)

The run will start and finish at Eton Manor Rugby Club, Nutter Lane, Wanstead E11 2JA.



New members are welcome. Please come along and try us out for up to three trial runs.

Saturday 21st March 2026 - Parkrun

Saturday morning parkrun.

At 9.00am FREE timed 5k runs/races at Wanstead Flats (Harrow Road), Valentines Park (Ilford), Roding Valley, Walthamstow, Barking and many other venues across London, the UK and other Countries.



Suitable for all levels from beginners to experienced runners.

Sunday 22nd March 2026 - Essex and Suffolk Road Relay Championships - Northern Gateway, Colchester

We are taking entries for the Essex and Suffolk Road Relay Championships at Colchester on Sunday 22nd March.

Please add your name to race entries, or email info@eastlondonrunners.org.uk by Thursday 12th March, if you would like to be entered as part of an ELR relay team.

The event schedule will be as follows:

Race 1: Junior Girls (U13, U15 & U17) Distance approx. 1.6 miles Start time 9.45am
Race 2: Junior Boys (U13, U15 & U17) Distance approx. 1.6 miles Start time 10.30am
Race 3: Women (Open, V40, V50 & V60) Distance approx. 3 miles Start time 11.15am
Race 4: Vet Men (V40, V50 & V60) Distance approx. 3 miles Start time 12.15pm
Race 5: Open Men Distance approx. 3 miles – Start time 1.15pm
Races 1-4: team of 3 runners and for the Open Mens event it will be a team of 4.

In order to comply with EA regulations, Team Captains are required to submit a list of names, EA numbers and Dates of Birth of their runners who could be part of their teams before race day so that county qualifications can be checked (same process as the County XC relays which were held in the winter).
Athletes are reminded that they must wear Club colours.

The club will enter you and pay your registration fee, however please ensure that you are available to run on the day.
